Touring the UK and living near Manchester where he worked extensively in the social clubs there also did quite a lot of work in Blackpool, and at a famous cabaret club Called PARK HALL, near Chorley, working with big stars like Matt Munro, Les Dawson and many more.

Having a High class London Management, at the time He Worked many of the famous night clubs
of London's west end, The Astor Club, the Blue Angel, the Stork Club, Quaglinos, and the famous Penthouse Club.
He did a tour in Italy at one point working at the NATO base in Naples, where he was very popular with the Americans.

after recording a song written by The late Kenny lynch, and Tony hicks (hollies) the record was played on the radio station lots of us will remember Radio Luxembourg, as a Luxembourg power play.

Derek also wrote music for Yorkshire TV's Documentary department for a few of their documentaries that were sold around the world.
Working all over the UK successfully in various cabaret clubs, and forming his own backing band
using the resident musician's as well, making the Backing band much bigger giving
a more professional show.
Having his own backing band to perform, and play for his shows in the cabaret clubs was his next step to making his performances more spectacular in the UK.
Derek went on working all around the Clubs and
cabaret clubs all over the UK doing work for Mecca night clubs and other prestigious venues,
Following a short Cruise Derek returned to working round the night clubs again in and around London and also traveling to Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

In 1994 Derek was given a place on the very successful and long running programme
Stars in Their Eyes
where he performed as the legend Pat Boone, singing his rendition of "April Love"

While working In Spain for some years Derek put together a Neil Diamond tribute show, and sounding very much like the original Neil Diamond proved very successful
and the show grew in reputation to be the best in Spain.

Now Back in the UK Derek still performs the show to many audiences and reactions are complimentary to his portrayal of Neil Diamond's Voice
